Outdoor

Prepare your own simple camp meal

Basic cooking equipment is provided, and guests can take part under the tour leader’s guidance and campsite rules. Ingredients, meals and drinks are not included and are purchased or arranged during the journey.

Campfires and outdoor cooking depend on weather, fire-danger ratings, current fire bans, campsite rules and safety. A safe permitted method will be used when an open fire is not allowed.

Open each day for the main plan. Order may reasonably change for weather, roads, campsite conditions and supplier operations.

Leave central Perth for a walk at Busselton Jetty and lunch at your own expense. Reach the campsite before sunset and set up together. After dark, gather outdoors and enjoy the stars and forest, with a campfire only when permitted and safe.

Day 02Lake Cave, wine country and forest lifeForest morning · Lake Cave · Margaret River winery · Camp+

Wake to birdsong and prepare a simple breakfast. Visit Lake Cave for its limestone formations and mirror-like lake, then a Margaret River winery for tasting and lunch at your own expense. Return for basic bush skills, photography, rest and outdoor cooking.

Day 03Breakfast in nature, pack down and PerthCampsite · South West rest stops · Perth+

Prepare breakfast in nature, pack personal belongings and help leave the campsite tidy. Pause for lunch at your own expense on the return journey and arrive in central Perth during the afternoon.

Toilets; no hot shower or electricity

The standard official campsite has toilet facilities only. The minibus has USB-C charging; bring a 10,000mAh power bank.

We provide the tent, sleep kit, lighting and cooking equipment and assist with campsite arrangements.

Meals

Hands-on cooking; food at own expense

Guests can take part in camp cooking. Ingredients, meals, snacks, soft drinks and alcohol are excluded.

Small luggage recommended

For all three-day tours, bring one small bag per guest, preferably 20 inches or less, plus a towel and toiletries.

Before you go

Suitable for first-time campers

Bring at least 750 ml of water, sun protection, a hat, sunglasses, walking shoes, towel, insect repellent, warm layers and a waterproof jacket. Winter nights may approach 0°C. Guests should be comfortable with ground tents, simple facilities and outdoor activities.
